I have a question: why is virtuoso playing required of Brian and not Keith, Mick T, Ronnie or anyone else in the rock world for that matter? Why is the bar raised higher for Brian and why is he then criticized for not meeting standards that few of his peers could?

I'm really scratching my head trying to figure out why so many people feel the need to find fault with Brian's playing. No he never played any Mick Taylor-like solos but so what? No one did in the 60s.

As for the rest of this debate, I feel that comparing any of the Beatles or Stones to Mozart or Bach is very much like comparing apples to oranges. I'm not even sure what purpose is being served by such comparisons. We can enjoy both and at the end of the day, isn't that all that matters?
