RE: RE: RE: John & Paul & Mozar, and others (SC)

As DA likes to note every so often, we all have our own opinions, and it's of yours that no rockers are worthily of being genius, which is so incorrect, IMO. But still, even if I totally disagree with you on this, I still respect your opinion.

You have with your comments, on why you feel Mozart is a genius and not Lennon/McCartney, tried to prove your point by bringing up mainly his childhood to prove your beliefs. Okay, I totally agree with you, Mozart was a rare child genius, while Lennon/Mcca weren't, but so what? Childhood doesn't count there, we're looking at the work of adults only. Plus Mozart isn't a part of the debate I disagree with you on, other than I was wondering why you feel one was a genius and the other 2 weren't, and your claim seems to be because of their childhoods. Yet if you do some research on what a genius is, a child can't really ever be considered one, for children they use the word "prodigy" instead. Yes, many child prodigies grow up to become geniuses, but the facts are also, that many child prodigies never become geniuses when they become adults. So age is the factor here, and although Mozart was a child prodigy who became a genius as an adult, and the 2 Beatles - who both could play musical instruments as children, still were not child prodigies, but they still became musical geniuses once they became adults.

Both Lennon and Mcca were/are musical geniuses, and there are others in rock who also are, too, like Bob Dylan, Brian Wilson (be it, a tortured one), and Stevie Wonder, just for starters... and since this is a Stones board, Brian Jones was the lone musical genius in the Stones, as there truly wasn't a musical instrument he couldn't play. It takes a genius to be that way. Is Jagger a genius, too? I would say he's borderline, but not over the border line, either, but it's debatable with him, as he has flashes of being one at times.

Plus there's a few rockers who are not limited to just being musical genius, too. Guitarist Jeff Baxter would be one of those. Today, and for years now, he has designed missiles as his main work and is looked at today, by the US government anyway, as an expert on missile/satellite defense and development (other than he's no genius when it comes to politics perhaps, but nobody is perfect, even geniuses).

Bottom line, I suggest you google the word "genius". It means: "of being of intellectual or creative power or other natural ability that most others lack". There are a lot more geniuses out there, including rockers, than I believe you realize. Plus on second thought, Jagger just may be a genius for sure, Ronnie!
