Keno, they're called "forums" because they can have many boards and even sub-boards. You have to have one word for the whole and then another one for the parts, otherwise it gets too confusing.

So then, a board like Gasland would never be called a forum? Yet I've seen other people call this place a "forum". I hate the name either way, they are just a bunch of message board all linked together, why use a fancy name like that when you can just call them messages boards!
