Just about the only thing we do not tolerate is members being rude to other members. But we are very strict about that.
And you should, flaming should be censored, as only rude people wish to read that crap and it can destroys a board in several ways. There is a reason why we don't have a lot of flames here at Gasland, and yes, I've been called a censor by the same 2 or 3 people here more than once for taking down such posts. But I rather be called something I'm not, than see or run a board that's full of hate and insults. Gasx3 between '98 and '03 had a lot of flames, trolls, spam, and also a lot more posters before the password system was put in place back in early '04. Now the spam, trolls and random posters are all gone, and only a few times a year do we see minor flames. I do miss the random posters, unfortunately they got eliminated by the password system, something I knew would happen with such a system, but shit like that happens when a solution is needed to solve a more important problem. Those more important problems are long gone now and it makes being a boardmaster much easier to work at than it was years ago. I no longer have to check the board for spam or flames 2 or 3 times a day like I used to years ago. That is a blessing, even if less posts overall is a sad result from all of that. But I'll take that and fewer flames to read any day over the way things used to be. Bottom line, the Land of Gas is still a great place to hang out and is still going strong after 17 and a half years. How many other web boards can say that which were around back in 1998? The answer is very few, and none of them were Stones boards, either.
