Apparently Ringo get fed up with their constant squabbling. But he's there on most of the WA tracks, even Paul's songs where John took a pass, and vice-versa. As per hard rock style, few drummers are expert at all sub-genres. John Bonham is an example of a solid hard rock drummer who could indeed leave the competition in the dust. However, stylistically The Beatles were more of a mainstream pop-rock band, albeit eclectic with many other influences as well. And Paul is an incredibly versatile musician who is also capable of playing drums proficiently. There were no doubt songs and/or arrangements where he was superior to what Ringo might have pulled off. Limitations aside, Ringo was exceptionally good at what he did especially in the context of performing for the song and not one's ego (a choice best left to a Ginger Baker or Keith Moon).
