Keno you nailed it perfectly on Elvis and Michael

Keno you amaze me because you nailed it and 90 percent of people get it very wrong with both Elvis and Jackson. I guess I shouldn't be surprised because you are an excellent researcher but I didn't realize how much insight you have on them. I truly hope you read my Elvis book one day. Elvis Music FAQ. You don't look down on people and that is so rare with writers.

I am a pretty big Jackson 5/Jacksons brothers fan both group and solo. I don't like much music past the early eighties so I tend to like their pre Thriller stuff best. Funny their hit with Mick is the first one I really don't like! Yet albums like Destiny, Triumph, Off The Wall, Get It Together now those are classic, as are many of their early Motown albums like ABC, Third Album, Got To Be There, Ben (actually the worst song on it is Ben), Jermaine Jackson's st debut, all the early stuff is pretty great if you like happy Motown soul.

Their I Don't Know Why on ABC is funnily a lot like the Stones version, and it has almost as much passion, maybe more. Michael and the brothers just sing the hell out of it.

I like Michael best of course but they really were a great group and people forget how good they sounded harmonically and how well they danced together. Jermaine had a couple of really good solo records in the seventies too. Again Michael was the star, but I love them as a group.

It's funny Michael always had four guys dancing with him in his solo years, they never had the chemistry even if they were technically better. He also began to lip synch on stage to do more stage tricks which I never liked. Of course I don't need to comment on his looks being better when he was a group member though of course the skin tone thing wasn't his fault nor the need for a wig, though he later chose some really poor ones.

I like some of his later stuff but a lot of it got too techno sounding. He really needed to go back to his roots and do a natural sounding soul album with his brothers, act like a musician again. Oh well. He seemed lost to his image, but I don't think he was a bad person like some tried to say.
