Ever considered the session notes could be inaccurate? As a Stones fan, I have never had any doubt that on Beggars Banquet Brian Jones plays the slide on NE on an acoustic guitar, it is played with all his trademarks. It's a straightforward piece but played with his beautiful touch. The slide on JSP on the other hand, is played on an electric guitar, possibly a solid bodied one, and the subtlety and approach of Jones' playing, to my ears, does not appear to be there.
Like I have already said, it is entirely possible that it is Brian Jones on JSP, however it is my inclination to think for the reasons I have given, that it is possibly Keith Richards. That is not spreading a falsehood i.e. a lie, it's just giving an opinion as to what I think. I have not claimed as an undisputable fact that it was Keith Richards and not Brian Jones who played that part.
BTW, I think I said it may have been Bill Wyman who was quoted as saying Jones did not attend the 'Satisfaction' session, it was in fact Charlie Watts.
