These top grossing figures, while interesting, don't mean a whole lot to me. Inherently they are skewed to favor the longer established bands, who usually have the higher ticket prices. And yes, a larger, more global following with disposable income. But aside from that, what does it even mean? Top-grossing doesn't mean more profitable. Take Springsteen for example, he must have 20 people playing on stage with him anymore. I know the industry is all over these numbers, but as a fan, it's just doesn't mean a whole lot...especially when someone like a Justin Timberlake can tour and get his name in the discussion.
