Looks like most members here don't know much about them. Me neither, but here are some things that some may find useful. The band is really just two guys. Hughes and Homme. I first heard of them back when Mick hosted Saturday Night Live and the Foo Fighters backed him. I sorta caught a Dave Grohl bug. Fueled by him vacationing in my home state and his covers of Stones songs. I found around that time that Grohl was working with or worked with Hommes and John Paul Jones of Led Zeppelin fame. I think it was a one off thing. Regardless, I remember being intrigued by the name Eagles of Death Metal so I checked it out. A few things I learned is they are two musicians that play in a slew of different bands and they took their name jokingly as to mean what the Band "the Eagles" would sound like if they played death metal music. If you listen to them, you don't hear death metal, trust me. In fact go to you tube, they got some videos. Their song "Complexity" started getting airplay a few months ago on my favorite radio station WXPN and I remember thinking "oh yeah, those guys." They also have ties to actor Jack Black. I believe they played with him too. I'm throwing all this out there just because. They fact they were even on tour is obscure in itself.So there you have it, by no means a death metal band and surely don't have a violent following or orgin.
