This one is different.
Up to now, the cowardly bastards had always targeted landmarks (e.g. World Trade Center) or "symbolic" targets (e.g. train lines). But some of this attack was seemingly totally random. Heavily-armed men going around and shooting people sitting at restaurant terrasses. Why were they picked? We may never know the reason why, or there may not even have been a reason.
Each one of us is now totally vulnerable. Seven coordinated attacks in seven different places. A Cambodian restaurant? Why??? The message is clear: no matter who you are or where you are, you are no longer safe.
There simply is no defense against this. You just can't post police and/or armed guards on every street corner in every city in the world. Nor do we want to see this in free and democratic societies.
