Personally I think it's somewhat simpler - they tried to target a football stadium, they didn't get inside, so they went somewhere else nearby. Or maybe they just had random targets planned. For many years I've been aware that I am at risk at any music event I attend - it's all too easy. I'm not posting my views on searching people who attend because I don't know who might be reading this who could take advantage of the situation. However, even if there had been good security at the venue - the security people would've been shot and they'd have entered the building - they're trained military people. Paris fighting back is IMO the biggest mistake ever. I wish the UN were doing their job properly.
