This is gonna sound crazy, but we should have left Saddam alone.
It does not sound crazy at all. That was a huge mistake and everything that is happening now with ISIS originates from that mistake.
Saddam was a crual dictator, but he was far from the only one! And in his day, Iraq was a reasonably "tolerant" society (for that part of the world anyway) where women, especially, had more freedom than in most Muslim countries. The standard of living for ordinary folks was also higher than in most countries in the region.
Iraq was NOT a hotbed of terrorism. And there were as many WMD in the country as there are little green men on Mars.
