Reminder: these attacks happened in France, not the US. Just thought I'd point that out...

France has its own set of problems with its large Muslim population, the origins of which go back to when it was a colonial power. It's unclear whether these terrorists had been born in France, but they had been living there for many years, yet felt totally alienated from French society. There are many more just like them in those dreadful ghettoized suburbs. How many are time bombs just waiting to blow? Where are they? How can the be found?

Most of the 9/11 terrorists were from Saudi Arabia. The attacks took years to plan. The French were attacked by people who lived among them and who required very little planning.
