That was what I meant manny. It might not fit in easily with the tough cynical image that at times was prominent, but I think there was a naivety about Lennon. The irony of him being shot in New York is that I think it was a place where he felt he was given space to move about without being pestered constantly. Maybe that created some sort of feeling that he was safe.....but with that easy access to firearms in the U.S., I suppose the possibility of nutter with gun was always there, more so than most other places.
