More on Karma

Just giving my opinion on what I saw this time out, a lack of huge news coverage. I just have not seen a big deal being made like I remember back in the eighties and nineties. I gave some reasons and my less than thrilled reaction to seeing them live back in 1994. As far as cheaper, what are tickets $300 instead of $400? I still rather spend it on vintage Stones vinyl and dvd material, or books on them. Stuff I will always love.

The rest of this post is just me getting into it more on the greed and karma so again skip if it bugs you. I am a fan but dislike the current band as they are today, or who they became. Some ugly info I HAVE researched carefully, stuff you may not want to know.

Let's say this tour is huge, the biggest ever etc. There still is something to my point on karma. I can go further. They used a clause when they changed labels in 1982 to not pay Mick Taylor his roylaties. They guy had to live very rough because of that. Have they started paying him his record money again? I sure hope so. I also heard Brian's estate makes next to nothing, at least according to the well regarded new book on him. It doesn't sound right, I mean Syd Barrett was a millionare and he did a lot less work than Mick Taylor or Brian Jones. Pity they don't have a David Gilmore setting things right for them. I have a feeling Bill Wyman would, but that it isn't within his control. What makes me mad is that Charlie and Ron do nothing and let Mick and Keith get away with whatever they like. Say whatever, do whatever.

I finally realize why Brian has been put down all these years, minamized, Bill, and Mick T too. It is in their finatial interest to do so. If they had to change a lot of their songs to group credit they would lose their their choke hold on the group and its history.

You know Mike Love is not a popular guy in rock history, but he did write a lot of Beach Boys songs. When he sued Brian Wilson for credits, Brian admited Mike wrote the songs. Mike may be an asshole, but he wrote the song lyrics. Admiting it, cost Brian Wilson some 5 million and shared label credit but he was a cool guy to admit it. It wouldn't have gone to court at all had he not had greedy advisers himself. The other Beach Boys lawsuits are all bullcrap, but that one got desired results.

So yes people Brian Jones, Mick Taylor, and Bill Wyman may have hurt Keith by letting down thew band in his eyes, but the fucker needs to stop trashing them and give them their due and credit. Mick not letting Bill and Taylor play full shows just shows you the type of dude he is. As Brian Jones said to Stu when he asked him about going to Hyde Park. "No I'm not going, I'll be the only one that has to pay."
