Bill and Mick T knew their roles on the last tour.
Bill wasn't on the last tour, he only played the 50th anniversary show. Plus he flat out said he had no clue what was up before the show.
Are you saying Bill didn't know before going on stage that he was only on 2 songs or he thought he'd be out there all night?
That was exactly what Bill himself said! You must have missed the excellent interview he did a few months ago when he talked about this. He was expecting, like all of us fans, that he would play the entire show with them - along with MT. He only found out that night when he showed up to play, that they only wanted him up there for 2 songs, and they didn't tell him until the show started which 2 songs he would play on. He was very upset about this and I don't blame him for feeling this way.
How many businesses do you know of that take people back after they quit? Not many.
We are talking about the music business here, and from what I have seen many times, it is very common for old bands to bring back old members who left many years ago. Just stop and think about it, it happens often. For starters, I can think of 2 bands you like a lot - Van Halen and KISS, and both of those bands have done that.
Everyone enjoyed seeing those 2 last time around. But the 4 that are there now and the supporting players not only kept them going, but made them get even bigger over the past quarter century.
Bigger perhaps, but not better. The Stones were clearly at their best in the 1960s and early 70s. Light years better back then than what we get to see today and even 25 years ago after Bill left.
By the way ticket prices are much lower this time around than 2 years ago.
That's why they are selling out faster this time around.
