I think you're just getting old, Mike. In the cities they're playing they certainly ARE a big deal. They were front page news in Columbus, there were reviews of the show in the Cleveland and Cincinnati papers and the C-Bus TV had things about them all day.
These are stadium shows. There's never a reason to pay face value for a ticket at a stadium show. Someone is always outside willing to take anything for spare tickets. Maybe not great for a date, but a great way to go by yourself. I know I've done it, and I know a lot of other people that have. Like I told friends around here, between Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Buffalo, there's close to 200,000 tickets available. You want to go? You'll get one. Just be patient. I got those Lucky Dips for C-Bus, and they were less than 80 bucks for two tickets. They were on sale for two days, too! So if you think they're greedy and overcharging, I really don't know what it is you want. Ten bucks a ticket?
I'm not fond of stadium shows at all, and the only band I would see in one is The Stones. Then again, who else can sell that many seats?
So far as relevant, I met with family from out of state over the weekend. They're from Alabama and Indiana. They both knew about the tour, and asked a lot of questions about the show and encouraged The Wonderchick and I to keep talking about it. The Stones weren't the best I've ever seen them, but they were fun and generally sounded great.
