RE: RE: RE: RE: Yet another killing by a white cop

I just got to watch it and damn, that was the first time I got to see that again since the night it was on TV live, 13 years ago! So very cool indeed and the first part was so enjoyable (I wasn't crazy for 'Miss You', but guess it was cool enough). But watching that brought back memories for sure about all of what was going on at that time.

Yeah, we all did come together at that time, not just rock stars, but all good people, and we all felt bad about every innocent person killed on 9-11, including all of the police officers who perished. The only statement anybody wanted to make at that show was that we were united. I and others who had past problems with the police put all that aside back when that was all going down, and just watching that clip reminded me of that. It also reminds me of my cousin Bobby Mcgee (yup, he has the same name as the song), he was a Port Authority Police Officer at the time, and he worked at and around the World Trade Center every day, but 9-11 was his day off and he was at home in Queens when the first plane hit, and on his way over there, just a few blocks away when the first building fell. But had he not been off from work that day, he would had more than likely been killed. Afterwards, he worked everyday in the pit during the cleanup and today he's sick from that work, plus working in the pit changed him forever, he's not the same man today.

But the cops had everybody on their side after 9-11, and not just NYC cops, but I believe all cops for awhile did. Then slowly time moved on and today things are again as bad as they once were in the '60s and early '70s between cops the the people they are suppose to serve. But who's to blame and who's doing all of the killings of innocent and unarmed people?

So Mick did actually wear the hat for about 3 seconds and then got rid of it, and I totally didn't remember it in that way. What I do recall was the other performers wore the hat for much longer periods of time and even performed a bit wearing the hat. Yet Mick acted uncomfortable as soon as the hat hit his head and he ditched it immediately. Now that all of what happened at that time just came back to me, I'll say no, he wasn't sending out any message at all, but he clearly didn't wish to wear the hat either, you can see that, and you can bet it was because of the bad past events involving the police and himself. Yet I'm sure he was happy to be there taking part at the show/benefit, he just clearly didn't want to wear the hat.

So yes, I did remembered it a bit wrong. Sorry, but my brain is getting old, and I'm also getting fed up again with the police and their deadly actions against people who are harmless to them or anybody else. Too bad all of that goodwill we all had at one time for them is now gone again, but they could change and stop killing innocent people - and I'm sure if they did, that we all would be on their side again. That's really all it takes, just stop killing unarmed people and maybe we can start to trust all of them again.
