Lol........North of Hadrian's Wall we tend to soften words.....so the hard Anglo/American 'shit' becomes shite here, so.......'you're full of fucking shit' would become 'you're full of fuckin' shite'....note how even 'fucking' is softened by omitting the 'g'
So as it is with 'shit', so it goes with 'piss', hence 'pish'.........so, here you might be out with a mate for a quiet pint or two, and when the time comes to point percy at the porcelain you might say to the mate 'I'm away for a pish gonny keep an eye on ma pint in case some cunt lifts it'...sometimes we say 'a slash' instead of 'a pish'
So that is one meaning of 'pish' i.e. to urinate...of course you will have tumbled by now that that is not how it was used above....'you talk a lot of pish' would mean 'you talk a lot of nonsense'......which of course you don't....please note that 'shite' in this instance could have been used to the same effect, as in 'you talk a load of shite'. I can only presume that when I typed those words I was just disagreeing with you over Oasis...like I say, in my opinion you are not one for talking nonsense.
Interestingly, the word pish when the letters e and d are added to the end, adds a little twist or two....so if we came across someone who had had a little accident we might say 'look at that tit, he's pished his trousers'. Of course when a chap(a youngish one...us older guys well.. ) has that sort of accident more often than not strong drink will have been involved, and then we would say that the unfortunate chap was well 'pished', meaning of course extremely drunk.
I'm afraid I have to report that that was the condition I was in when I made that post i.e.'pished', and well stoned. The truth is I barely remember making the post. The fact of the matter being I was out for a day of music and adventure with friends down by the seaside, Troon to be exact. Not only do I barely remember posting, I hardly remember anything, how I got home etc. I do know that I had the bestest of times, and I think I even pulled because this morning I found a burds name and number written on a bookies slip in my jacket pocket....not bad for an old geezer eh! Sometimes life is good, mostly it's shite though.
Anyway Fender Bender please understand no offence was intended (although I do insist on the right to offend, and will defend it to the death). However if you do decide that you're going to hunt me down to beat the crap out of me, as you're doing it you will now know exactly what you're doing i.e. 'kickin' the shite out of me for tryin' to rip the pish out of you'...there's yet another use of the word 'pish', but we'll leave that for another time.
