RE: RE: RE: Anyone Remember The Honeycombs? nsc

If Joe Meek was a necrophiliac, kept body parts in the fridge and only lived at 304 Holloway Road for a few months before pissing everyone off in the area and then shooting his landlord then I would need to agree that he was all kinds of crazy. But actually none of this is true. If you can find anything online that mentions any of this then I will certainly agree with you. Anyone can check wikipedia or any online biography and see that such things never happened. Yes he shot his landlord, but while that can never be justified, lots of people shoot people who are close to them in a fit of anger. Hell Marvin Gaye was shot by his own father. Usually--and quite rightly--these people are not allowed to use the excuse that they were crazy. No, they were just people who saw red in an argument and as a gun was at hand, used it to settle the argument. That makes them criminals and not crazy. Meek would have had to pay for what he did if he hadn't shot himself too. But that doesn't take anything away from him as an innovative record producer.

Anyway, to recap, he actually lived with this woman at 304 Holloway Road for many years (and not just "a few months" as you previously mentioned). He wasn't a necrophiliac and he didn't keep body parts in the fridge. If you can track down hard facts that he did/was all these things then everyone will agree with you including me. There is an awful lot on the Internet about Joe Meek but none of it mentions anything like what you have mentioned.
