The Super Bowl, to Americans, is as important as the Pope is to catholicism! You don't mess with the SB! That's why it's not so funny. I think the fact that the Patriots were caught "cheating" several times before this, several different ways, makes this more serious. Especially because the Patriots are so good... why risk getting caught over something so stupid if you are probably gonna win anyway? It's like in baseball with Barry Bonds or Roger Clemens doing steroids. They didn't need them and now they are outcasts.
