Perhaps you misunderstood me. I am referring to the New England Patriots Deflategate scandal. The question is not whether or not an equipment manager "could" have deflated a ball or balls without the QB knowing he did so. The question is Would He do so without being instructed to do so by Brady at some point in the season? An equipment managers job is to get the equipment Exactly as the player specifies. Everybody in the league knows this. Yet Brady and Belichek want us to believe the ball boy or equipment manager, (who is an employee of the New England Patriots) decided completely on his own to deflate those balls below league legal psi. Sorry. I don't buy that explanation at all. As many years as Brady has played football and handled a football I am sure he can "feel" an NFL football and know if it is underinflated. And the psi those balls were inflated to just happens to be where Brady likes it. I believe Brady when he says "I did not alter the balls in any way". But he is playing word games here. I feel certain he told someone to underinflate the balls at some point. No he did not alter the balls himself. He instructed someone else to deflate the balls. Apparently he was playing with an underinflated ball against the Ravens. The Ravens warned the Colts about it ahead of time.
Brady acting like he had no knowledge the balls were underinflated is just that - an act.
You bring up a good point Keno. The NFL could and should make sure the balls are not tampered with by giving the balls to the teams closer to kick off.
