I agree. But the question was "would the score be different?" I believe the answer is YES. Passing an underinflated ball in cold windy conditions can be the difference between a ball just making it to the target receiver in time between two defenders, OR that same throw being intercepted by one of those two defenders. A ball underinflated gives the passer more GRIP. (Nothing slicker than a brand new ball with lots of PSI.) A properly inflated ball means to some QBs with smaller hands they cannot get as much grip and therefore not get the same velocity on the ball,(Velocity is rotation of the ball, which the more velocity, the better the pass cuts through the wind. It gets there quicker and more accurate) So if a Brady pass "just beat" a defender against the Colts then IF that ball was inflated properly it probably would have been deflected by a defender or even picked off by a defender. In the Pros that half second difference can be the difference between a successful pass play or a disaster with a pick six.
I played QB in high school. That does not make me an expert on the topic. It does give me knowledge on the topic others might not understand though.
It IS a bigger deal than the Patriots are trying to make of it. That is why both Tom Brady and Bill Belly Chick are outright lying about it all. No ball boy or equipment manager is going to underinflate those balls purely on their own. Let's be real here.
It's enough to have made me decide to root for the Seahawks on Super Bowl Sunday. I hate lies of this sort. And every ex player has said the same thing regarding Bill and Tom's press conferences on the topic. They feel STRONGLY that both Brady and his head coach are flat out lying. They both KNEW ! Of course they did. they were both trying to get an edge outside of the rule book.
