Yes and no. 'Clean-cut' as far as them dressing nice, yes, and not acting crazy (which for them was a total act), but not with their hair, no matter how short it looks today in photos, their look, when they first came to America, was about as long as anybody at that time ever saw on men, and the members of the WW2 generation hated the look from the get-go. It wasn't even close to what was called clean-cut for 1964, their hair length was considered very long hair. The "normal" hair style/look that 99.9% of all men in the US wore before the Beatles, was short with the hair combed back, no men ever wore bangs before the Beatles in the US - none, it was considered a gay look, even if the gays of that time were 99% in the closet and never wore bangs either. Your average adult male got a new, short, "regular" haircut every 3 to 4 weeks on average. Every man had that clean-cut look up until the Beatles, and then they and all of the other rock artists changed that look of the time for good.
