But how can you copyright an old saying?
All I know is that it was done before the Glimmers, they weren't the first to do that by any means. Big corporations still try to do it to this very day using old words that mean something new today, they try to cash in on the new use of the old word by claiming the copyright!
I've seen that too! I remember a guy saying (also on an overseas board, probably the same one) that most of the guitar on the first album was played by Keith.
That old lie is still going around today? LOL, it was one of the very things I was talking about when those rude fans would go after me and anybody else who corrected their misinformation that they tried to spread. The worst of the bunch in those days were at the old Stones NG, which of course never had a webmaster to control things, and to this day still doesn't have one since it is a NG and not a web based site. I checked it out again for the first time in years, just for the hell of it, about a year and a half ago and the NG is only a skeleton of what it used to be, but some people still do post there, but it didn't appear to have any regular posters left, either. Most of the real Stones fans left that wasteland for good around 1998 or so.
