And here in the US, in so many western states, they want to do that - break off and form new states. It almost got on the ballot in California this past month, to cut the state up into 5 new states, and 2 years ago here in Colorado, they had it on the ballot in all of (but only) eastern Colorado to leave our state and form a new state, and form what would be a truly republican state, since the people out there on the Great Plains are so different than the rest of us in the foothills and mountains. But they ended up voting "no" out there on that. Too bad, what they need to do out here in the western US is break up all of the states, they are way too big and this problem with people being so different than others in the same state happens all the time. Yet in the eastern and southern US, that's not a problem at all, since those states are small and the right size.
