You must be immensely relieved this morning (well, afternoon for you).
From what I heard early this morning before leaving my house, it was 55% no and 45% yes. At least you will be spared the drama we had to go through in 1995, when the difference between the two options was only a few thousand votes.
The aftermath was pretty bad. The leader of the losing side came up with the worst kind of concession speech, full of bitterness and hate. With a vote split right down the middle, healing took a long time. A very long time.
Referendums are divisive Ronnie! Friendships can be broken, family members can stop talking to each other. We live in democracies and no political option is worth that kind of shit. JMHO.
