it wil remind us of when john lennon was killed, and the huge crowd that gathered outside of the dakota.
Outside the Dakota? Have you forgotten a few days later, when Yoko asked everyone all over the entire world to come together for his funeral in different places (since they didn't have a normal one for him) and what took place? I was living on Colorado's Front Range then (under Pikes Peak), and in several locations from Boulder, to Denver, to Colorado Sps - all the way down into New Mexico, thousands of people gathered in different places. A few miles where me and my family lived, at these weird formed rock formations called Garden of the Gods, was where we went and there were several thousands there alone. I recall Red Rocks Amphitheater, about a half hour's drive west of Denver, filled up that day, too (the Beatles played there once).
I was thinking back on that the other day, how they were making such a big deal about how texting was overload when MJ died and all of the concerned. But from what I have seen, when Lennon was killed, the grief was so much more widespread, much more than what we are seeing for Jackson. Lennon was more important a figure, to more people. Heck, I recall when JFK was killed, it was even bigger news, yes, but still, there were no gatherings like there was for John in 1980.
