We pay (in Ontario, CAN)8% provincial sales tax and 5% federal sales tax which. then we get income taxed at the end of the year which might be around 17% for soemone who makes 35000 a year. When I was in Carlironia I had a chance to socialize with a Doctor down there and we talked briefly about the Health system defferences, he more or less said that you's could easily have a great health system if the government didn't waste all it's money on the military and farce little wars, he was quit upset about the Bush administration and it's lies and all that money being allocated to his oil war. It's too bad that obama at least ostensibly has good intenions but with the Insurance Companies current stranglhold and the Rebulicans seeming hidden agendas obama can't do anything. it is very difficult, you guys can't just do away with the insurance companies becuase it is a HUGE revenue for the econony but after reading some of the numbers you's are payign it cetainly is a racket.
