Lol no, I would be 99% sure he got it from Kenneth Williams.
Kenneth Williams... who?... a British actor you say?.... (10 minutes later).... Okay, so I just looked up his name and read a bit on him at Wikipedia, which in turn means I didn't get the correct info knowing that place!... But he was a gay man, who was a virgin, and who maybe killed his father who he never liked, and then years later - would do himself in?... But hey, what a great line to come up with!
Damn, wish you hadn't told me that, there goes yet another great lyric that I thought Keith had written but which instead he just stole from another person.
I recall the first time I learned a great lyric that I thought Keith had written, that wasn't his at all (although I was only in my teens) when my mom told me that Keith didn't write the great line: "wild horses couldn't drag me away", as it was used in some 1930s song first. Then later on I learned that it actually came from a saying from the 1600s referring to medieval torture of all things (tying a person by rope by his arms and legs to 4 houses and then whipping the horses to get them to run... (what a great way to be tortured and killed!)!... Then shortly after that I learned that he didn't really write "lose your dreams and you will lose your mind", along with most of the other lyrics to "Ruby Tuesday". As most of us understand now, he just stole those lyrics along with the song's musical credit from poor Brian.... So now I learn this too? Hell, when I heard "Infamy" for the first time I thought, what a great line Keith, way to go! Now it turns out the song's title wasn't even from him! What's next, Ronnie?... Oh yeah, that's right, he stole "It's Only Rock n Roll" from you! But hey, at least he paid you back for that one by letting you into his band a year later, so that one is a wash I guess, and his partner/twin in crime was in on that one, too.
