Keno, with all due respect sir, I can not see how you can say something sucked if you haven't seen it! You can say that you disagree with the premise of the show therefore you would not watch it. As an example, I would say that I saw the movie American History X which was about white supremists and just how disgusting they were. However, the movie itself, IMO, was amazing. Edward Norton was spectacular and worthy of praise, not feel embarrassed about playing a role.
All those Soprano's actors played roles about an organization that DID and DOES exist. They are actors. That's what they do. If you saw the Soprano's you would realize that no one suggested that ALL Italians were mafioso. Mobsters were not glorified in that series. In fact, it showed how scary and dangerous life was if one was in that "life". It showed how people would kill their own relatives or spouses. It was not glorified but villified. It showed many good Italians and how they were disgusted by the actions of the mob. I am 100% Italian/American and I am not disgusted by the actors OR the portrayal of the characters in the show. Why? Because it is based on truth, and you can't change the truth.
There are MANY types of organized crime gangs: Russian mob, Asian mob, etc. Does anyone think that all Russians or Asians are in the mob? I would guess not. Just like all Italians are not in the mob.
I think to give a fair summation as to if the show itself sucks or not, one must actually SEE the show. It's like saying "chocolate ice cream sucks, but I've never tried it!" Just my humble opinion and of course, no disrespect intended.
