I would guess that if you look at the true numbers, its probably even less than .5% of Italian Americans who are connected to the Mafia.
True, other than unless your family came over to America from Sicily, then it may be higher, around 1% (?), in part since that's a small island, and where most of the American mob families were from. My family isn't from there. My dad's family was from Naples, mom's from northern Italy, near the Swiss border. That's where the blond hair in the family comes from, most on her side were blond and blue eyed. My grandpa (her dad), looked like the twin to Irish American actor Carroll O'Connor, other than he was much older than him, so O'Connor really looked like him.
