RE: RE: How good is Bob Dylan?

He clearly isn't uncaring in his lyrics, it's just the way he acts towards people in real life - including his own fans.

I've seen him live twice, but I won't spend a dime on seeing again after the second time I saw him. It was at Red Rocks, around '86 or so, and he put on the worst live concert that I ever saw. Most who play there usually will put out their best effort, as the beauty of the place inspires them. But not only did he have an off night at that show and sounded awful, he acted like he didn't want to be there. For the entire concert he never said a single word to his audience, I mean not even a thank you after a song. I never seen a performer do that other than his doing that at that one show.

I do recall when I saw in in NYC years earlier, he didn't talk a lot at that show either, but that was back when he was finally returning to doing live shows again and I figured he was just on the shy side that nite.
