Well don't sell ALO short. He did get the boys to write their own songs so they would get royalties down the road. Also back in those days if a single made it big, side A and side B got paid the same. He also was a type of assistant manager to Brian Epstein and learned a lot about what NOT to do. ALO was the one who did NOT want the Stones to sign with a single recording studio like the Beatles did. That way the Stones could record their own music and then sell that to the record companies while all the time holding on to rights. He was instrumental in getting the boys going. I think their wealth came when Prince Ruppert stated to control their money and help book tours for them. I know ALO turned sour later on, but he did play a big part in the beginning. Plus let's not forget because of him MJ and Marianne would later hook up.
