I think everybody noted the correct things about him above, and I would agree with DA that the best thing he did for the Stones was get the Glimmer Twins to start to write their own songs. He was a good manager for the band in the early days, too.
However, he was the worst thing to happen to Brian Jones, who was the Stone who hired him in first place to manage the band. It was ALO who drove BJ and the Glimmers apart, and for the entire band, it was ALO who taught the Glimmers that terrible sin of not allowing the other band-mates to be credited (or paid) on the songs they help write. Andrew ended the Nanker/Pledge deal the band had and he flat out would not allow any songs to be credited to anybody else in the band, period. "Ruby Tuesday", which the Glimmers had agreed to credit to Jones/Richards, never was, and it was because of ALO, he flat out won't allow it. The same deal happened on a few other songs. In the early days that was all his doing, not the Glimmers. Sadly, after the band fired him, the Glimmers kept that one bad habit going of not crediting their band-mates.
