In the UK he and Tony Calder started Immediate Records which had a considerably strong artist roster. Sure it all went pear shaped - maybe the musicians were too naive and too trusting. I think about it quite a bit - how could royalties not be paid out - the only question I'm left with is "where were the publishing contracts between the artists and the publishing company?" I recall when I worked for Intersong International in the 1970s the manager of a famous musician was going through no end of grief because the person they represented was refusing to sign ANY contracts for anything - and therefore couldn't receive any royalties! I don't suppose that happens too often, LOL! I don't suppose the owners of Immediate were alone in how they treated musicians - the music industry seems to be full of corruption.
