It's weird how some people can simply just abruptly change course in their lives and go a completely different direction, never looking back. Yes, some of them do this by dying, but others do it by moving to latin america, apparently. For whatever reason, I just came across the wickedly mysterious and haunting '67 tune "Ode to Bille Joe" by Bobbie Gentry and it appears that on the cusp of really breaking out this Bobbie Gentry simply disappeared from the music business, forever.
As far as the Loogster goes, he is a shining example of the acute effect that simple personal bias and preference can have on outcomes in history.
