PA, you have made other posts here this year alone, come on, you gotta know that - or somebody was using your handle! No, you don't post now like you used to and I do miss seeing you here.
I worked for 3 years in management for a Colorado c&w concert promoter, so I at least knew the business well years ago. Some of what you say is true, yes, the performers set a price to pay a gig and promoters do set the ticket prices after they negotiate what the price will be with the performers. The performers do have a say in what the tickets prices will be, there is no question about it, and if they feel the ticket prices will be too high, they can, and many have, spoken up about it and can change things. I recall Willie Nelson, back around 1979 or so, did this. He was almost signed by the company I worked for, and he was asking for $50,000 at the time for one show, which was a lot back then, as we usually booked well known bands for half of that price or less. So the only way we could have pulled this off was in charging very high ticket prices, and Willie flat out said "no way" to that, and in the end, we never got to put on a show with him.
You feel the 2 of us are pigheaded? I'm shocked to hear this! Well, I don't feel that way about you at all. I know I might be headstrong and you won't change my mind on too many things that I believe in, but I will listen to others and see what they have to say, too. I think that's a good thing, not a bad thing. But no, I'm no pushover either, but how can you say I'm anything that being a pigheaded person would be? Look up the world, I did, according to the free dictionary site, a pigheaded person is: stubborn, contrary, perverse, obstinate, stupid, dense, inflexible, wilful, unyielding, stiff-necked, wrong-headed, self-willed, bull-headed, mulish, cross-grained, and froward. Many of those meanings is just a rude way of saying that a person is stubborn. I may be headstrong in what I believe, but I'm not stubborn, as I am reasonable. I'm hurt that you, my friend, feel this way about me, but you are dead wrong if you really think in this matter about me. That ins't me at all, nor is it you. I would not be friends with a pigheaded person, can't stand them. Perhaps you meant to use another word? I sure hope so, as there is nothing nice about that word.
