I do disagree with your statement that they "need" Mick Taylor.
I even disagree with this statement in how I worded it there, now that I just read it again (I wrote it at almost 5 in the morning after a very long day and 'cause it was late I didn't proof read it). Of course the Stones don't need MT, but what I meant that to say has now been said by Sway, that they need MT to make their show better. I disagree with Sway that MJ is afraid that MT will upstage the rest of the band, and I bet it has nothing at all to do with money. It got to do with the Stones, or at least MJ, not wanting him back in the band, period.
In my opinion the shows I saw during The 50 And Counting Tour (I saw 3), were among the best shows I've ever seen from them.
I understand that, but you never saw them back in '69, or in the early '70s with MT! Not only are they better with him up there, but Keith doesn't play anywhere like he used to play back in those days. If you had been there like I was back then, you would agree 100% with me on this. Yeah, they still put on a great show today, but why not put on a even better show today if you got the personal to do so?
By the way maybe the other 4 Stones feel why should he be welcomed back fully while we held this thing together for the past 40 years?
There is no question they feel this way! But they should instead say to themselves, we can be an even better band with him playing with us again - plus most of our true fans want him back, so let's give this a real try and not some stupid Bronx cheer like we did last year. Let make our band the greatest rock band in the land once again! That is how they should be thinking, and not in the way they are.
