March. The month Spring makes it's grand entrance, the month of warm winds, and the month of Leeds '71, is now upon us. Hello March! Goodbye February and good riddance! You are a cold hearted bitch with all your frigid temps and wild biting wind! You overstayed your welcome!
I was just sitting here listening to a comp of the Stones, drinking and thinking, and it seems to me the Stones have missed a great opportunity to further galvanize their greatness. Why oh why have they not released a truly dynamic live version of 'Love In Vain' from the '72 Tour???!!! Yes, I know we have the version on Ladies And Gentlemen... on DVD. And it is a good version as they all were, but it is a slower version and a bit more tame and less soulful, compared to many of the LIV versions on that tour. Yes, we have the Ya Yas version, but MT was not allowed to cut loose in '69, like he was in '72, and part of '73.
If I can recognize the need to correct this error, and further their standing - why can't they? They had to record many of those shows back in '72 and have 'em in the vault. I know they recorded the shows in Texas. I'll bet you the LIV which made L>RS was not even the best one the Stones performed in the state of Texas! Do you guys hear it? How that version of LIV on L>RS is slower than most of the others in '72 ?
