RE: RE: Welcome To March ssc

The truth is DA, I'm no fan at all of cold weather, and after living out west in Colorado for almost 40 years - and after growing up in NY, well, I sometimes forget just how bad the cold was/is back east. On the thermometer itself, Colorado is much colder in winter than anywhere in the east - but - back east you got that high humidity working with the cold, and because of that, it feels so much colder back there than what the actual temperature is. 40 degrees in NYC feels the same as what 10 degrees feels here, and that is a fact - and something you guys have to put up with everyday. It works the same way with the snow - back east it's always wet snow that you get, and very heavy to shovel off your walkway. In Colorado we get most of our snow as dry snow, it's light as a feather, and unless there is more than a foot that fell overnight, you never have to use a shovel to get it off of your sidewalk, you just get a bloom and sweep it away in seconds. Plus back east (or in any city anywhere) the snow turns dirty real fast, but that never happens here, it just stays white all winter long. Perhaps if I still lived in NY I would not be so much a fan of winter, but one of the main reasons I left the east was because of the terrible year round humidity and weather you have back east. I could not breath in the summer there 'cause it would be so damn hot and humid there. In the almost 40 years I've been in Colorado, I have never once seen a hot humid day - not a single one. Yes, where I used to live on the Front Range, they go into the 90s often each summer - but never is the humidity higher than 15% or so when such temps hit, very often the humidity will be below 10%, even below 5% on some days, and that makes it feel cooler. I recall in NYC, thanks to the heat-humidify index, they will say, it's 94 degrees outside but feels like 110 degrees! In Colorado and the entire west, they will say, it's 94 degrees out, but feels like 85 degrees! The same deal happens in the winter, you just feel the cold so much more there because of the high humidity. So yeah, I can understand why you dislike the cold so much, but still, try to find some good in it, that will make the days go by real fast. You know what I mean, good days go by so fast, while a bad day seems to take forever to get through.
