Oh well, to each his own. I love MJ's vocal on "Luxury", I think he sounds great. He's done that on several other songs, trying to sound different, and yes, some Stones fans hate that. But I'm not one of them. I think if you can change a song to fit a mood you wish to relay, there's nothing wrong with changing your voice like that. Other singers do it too, not just Mick. I mean, it's done all over rock music, and not just with voices... A good guitar player will change his instrument's sound sometimes - and most like that. I mean, take Queen's guitarist Brian May. While he's a very good player, he almost never changes how the sound coming from his guitar sounds. Every Queen song sounds exactly the same, guitar wise. Same deal with Eddie Van Halen (for the most part). But then on the other hand, take how John Lennon sounded on guitar. Sometimes he played his guitar going with a acid rock guitar sound - which I loved, but most of the time he didn't play that way. John also changed his vocals from time to time as a singer, too - as did his mate Paul, hell, Paul in the later years did it a lot. So Jagger does that too with his voice, and I think it works! Change to me is good when playing guitar, or while singing. But yes, some fans hate that.
