As far as Trump and honesty goes, are you kidding? He lies more than anybody who ever lived in the White House, and we all know how much some past presidents lied. Trump lies even more than Pig Nixon lied! Nothing honest with Trump at all! He is open in saying what he believes, yes, but he doesn't ever follow up on anything he says. Look at all the insane promises he made when he ran for office and what he has actually done since taking office. He hasn't gotten anything at all done, really nothing at all! He's all talk, and half the time he talks, he lies!
As far as playing the anthem before games goes, why even do it? When you go to any other entertainment event, like a rock concert, or a movie, etc, do they play the anthem? Do they play the anthem before people start their workday? No, so why do they do it before sport players start their workday? The pro teams are not representing this country at sporting events, maybe their home state or city, but not the country. So it isn't needed and never was played before games until the conservative 1950s came around. If they didn't play the anthem before games, then nobody would be able to protest it.
People are forgetting, but this ins't new at all. Same thing was happening in the late '60s and into the '70s. I recall going to NBA and ABA basketball games in NY and many black fans refused to stand back then for pretty much the same reason some players are refusing to stand today. Plus the guy who started this, Colin Kaepernick, he had been sitting on the bench and refusing to stand up at 2 or 3 games before he took a knee. Nobody noticed him sitting there and that was why he decided to take a knee on the sidelines instead, and boy did that get noticed. Yet I would think that sitting there instead of taking a knee would be even worst?
