As a mother of an athletic son and as an avid lover of football, I mull this issue time and again. (My crush growing up was John Elway.) Maybe athleticism and prowess can be demonstrated without the high-risk of inflicting life-threatening injury. Overall, I applaud the changes that have come to the NFL, making the sport "softer", but definitely safer and, IMO, just as exciting to watch.
