Boise has had a single record store in operation dating back to the late 60's, still thriving. And during the past year another one has opened up and has built up a decent inventory of new and used vinyl, CD's, and tapes. It's located near Boise State and seems to be doing a brisk business with the college crowd and older demographics (such as myself) as well. The owner says LP's outsell CD's 4-to-1, with tapes a distant third, so it appears that the vinyl resurgence is real. I bring in some of my records for trading from time to time. Next month there will be a large vinyl record swap event in town, an annual event. Typically they feature 7 or 8 vendors from out of state plus several local dealers. This is quite an event for vinyl junkies, and I find my wallet emptying quickly once inside the venue. I'm sure this year will be no exception!
