RE: Love record stores... making a comeback?

Unlike so many of you, I don't and never will miss the days of vinyl records. I'll take CDs any day over them, the sound is better to my ears and you can play continues amounts of music without having to go and change sides for each side, and in time not having to replace the old needles. With that said, I do miss the old record stores, there aren't any out here where I live at all.

NYC was the place to be back in the '60s and '70s for great, small record stores. There were so many back in those days, and I gotta wonder just how many of them are left today. Or are any of them left? We used to go to this one, very small record store in the East Village (back when it was called "the lower East side"), it was near where the old Fillmore East used to be located, and damn, the old guy that ran that store knew his business. They had just about every record - singles or LPs, that you might be looking for.... or not be looking for and would find, and when they didn't, this guy would order it for you and you could pick it up a week later. Those were the days, Ronnie!
