The thing about Sirius radio, you may recall years ago I was talking about it a bit more, since I was a work at home 800 operator for them. I got to work for Sirius about 8 months, then the company I actually worked for lost their contract with Sirius and then I was answering 800 calls for about 75 different companies at once (really, that many, you would get about a 5 second warning as to what company the incoming call was for on your computer screen, and then what to say when answering the phone would pop up on your screen). But anyway, long before that job, when I owned my own company, answering 800 lines was one of my businesses main functions (that and conducting telephone surveys/polls), so this is something I've done for years on end, more than any other job I've ever worked at in my life. But what I'm getting at, is when you work at such a job, overall it's not that bad, but you will get, usually at least once or twice a day, some really rude callers who hate the company you are answering the phone for. But working for Sirius, holy shit, it was easily the best 800 job I ever had to answer the phone for. 99% of their customers were either happy people who loved their service - calling in to tell you that or calling in for song suggestions, that, and new signups, and the others calling were people who needed us to reboot their satellite signal for them. But in all of that time working for them, I can recall 2 nasty, upset people calling - and that was it! I mean, I never had anything close to such a thing with any other company, and being a customer service rep means you will get a certain amount of complains and rude people calling you, it just comes with the job and you learn not to ever let it bug you, but with Sirius you never got any of that! That alone tells you something about their service and how well they treat their customers.
One last thing about listening to Desert Trip radio - in the last day. Friday afternoon they brought in a few DJs who I don't think usually works for them (I never heard them on the stations I listen to, anyway). Theses guys are working on the air live at the show for the weekend and they started Friday afternoon. The 2 who I have heard the most (they are on right now) are David Fricke and Mark Goodman. I assume Goodman is the same guy who used to be on MTV back in the 1980s, and I recall liking the guy back then. Fricke is a rock writer and editor at Rolling Stone magazine. But these 2 guys yesterday were total morons who had no business being on there. Example: They were talking about the Stones and the show they put on a few nites ago, and how they for the first time in years played "Mixed Emotions". Only problem was, they had no clue what the song was, and they kept calling the song "Mix Affections"! Idiots! How can you work in rock for years and not know the title of that well known song that you're talking about? They went on to say other insane things besides that and I ended up turning off the radio for several hours after that until I knew they would no longer be on the air again (after midnight). There's free HBO on TV this weekend, so we ended up watching a movie instead last night. Yet these same 2 are on right now, although they seem to be doing a better job than yesterday, and even called "Mixed Emotions" correctly today.... So I just wrote that and well, let me take it back... they just came on the air as I'm was typing this, and the Stones new song "Just Your Fool", just finished playing, and one of them just said, "That's the new single from the Stones new blues album, the title which I haven't hear it's title yet". So somebody please inform these dicks as to who the Stones are and don't let them back on the air again until they know what they are talking about! How do they not know the title yet??... Yes, 2 total morons to say the least! I'm missing Dusty Steet's show which is usually on at this time, why isn't Dusty there at the show deejaying instead of these 2, Ronnie?! Well, I'm gonna build the new polls for next week now and then I'm heading out the door for the day, enough of Desert Trip radio until late tonight!
