Hell, I live here year round and really didn't totally know of this law until about a month or 2 ago when the Queen song was first used by Trump without permission and ABC news ran that story. I knew there was a law stating that a candidate couldn't use an artist's music if the were told by the song's writer to cease using it, but the getting permission part first was new to me. One doesn't have to ask permission to play an artist's music on the radio of course. I guess this all actually stated not with the Queen song, but with Trump using a song written by Jackson Browne, as he told Trump he didn't support him and Trump then started to use the Queen song after that.
