I agree completely. Plenty of energy onstage by the band but by comparison to other tours the sound of the music was indeed harsh. It was the first year the Stones went "cordless" for their guitars, and I wonder if the lack of warmth and depth in the sound was due mainly to that new technology still being in it's infancy, and not yet perfected. The guitars sound kind of thin and tinny. Jagger often wore his voice out quickly as well.
