I am not much of a Beatles fan, but only because back in the day, at least in my neighborhood you either liked one or the other and not BOTH.
Really? Where was this taking place and in what decade? I bet it wasn't in the '60s.
In the '60s when I was growing up and both bands were active, everybody - that is, all of the Baby Boomers (most of the parents from the WW2 generation didn't like either band or anything connected to rock music) loved both bands, although almost all kids would say they liked the Beatles more (I was one of the few who liked the Stones more). I can only think of one kid in the entire neighborhood who didn't like the Beatles or the Stones, and her name was Nancy; she was a year older than me and I recall that she had the nicest developing breasts on any of the 13 to 15 year old girls on the street. Gosh did I love her breasts, but I never could understand her tastes in music, she just didn't dig Rock music at all! But she was it out of all the kids, and I'm talking a lot of kids! Even all the kids in school loved both bands!
